Big News in 2023
Our community is building an ecosystem where edtech products work together and digital credentials—representing learner achievements—are transferable across education and work. Here are some of the top stories from the year on how we're creating top-notch learning experiences for everyone.
Best Student Data Privacy Solution
1EdTech’s TrustEd Apps Management Suite (TAMS) gets recognized with a "Cool Tools 2023 EdTech Award" from EdTech Digest.
The TAMS dashboard is used in over 350 school districts and includes over 11,000 edtech products. The dashboard enables curating a list of recommended apps with detailed information about privacy policies, interoperability conformance, security practices, GenAI data, and accessibility features. TAMS makes it easier for teachers to access and use digital tools in their classrooms without inadvertently putting student data at risk.
Collaborating on Generative AI
1EdTech's Emerging Digital Pedagogies Innovation Leadership Network (ILN) creates an AI Preparedness Checklist to guide institutional leaders in using AI in teaching and learning.
This resource complements the new TrustEd Apps Generative AI Data Rubric (Data Privacy section) self-assessment tool for suppliers developed by a collaborative group of AI experts from our membership.
Setting Expectations on Security Practices
1EdTech’s new TrustEd Apps Security Practices Rubric is a self-assessment tool designed to gather base-level security policies, procedures, and processes so educational leaders can mitigate security risks within their teaching and learning environment and accelerate their edtech procurement.
Prioritizing Accessibility
1EdTech released the TrustEd Apps Accessibility Rubric and accompanying user guide to give educational institutions a starting point when looking to procure accessible technologies and to make it easier for suppliers to create them.
First Cohort of TrustEd Apps Certified Leaders
Twenty-seven edtech leaders completed the full range of TACL learning modules on open standards and how they impact instruction.

“Many times, districts will build as they go, but that can cause a lot of problems because we aren’t thinking five steps ahead. Later, you realize what standards would be helpful. The 1EdTech community helps you consider that state and brings experience, so you know what you need to ask for and create a multi-year plan.”
